The TVS XL 100, one of the most recognisable two-wheelers in the country, is now available in Gujarat, West Bengal, Orissa, and Assam, according to a report on ET Auto. The Chennai-based company had recently launched the XL 100 in Uttar Pradesh.
The motorcycle, in various avatars including two-stroke and four-stroke variants, has sold over 1 crore units in India. The XL 100 is powered by a 99.7 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke motor that produces 4.2 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 6.3 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The healthy dose of torque is one of the reasons the XL still finds currency in rural areas. The company claims 67 kmpl as mileage and a top-speed of 60 kmph. The engine is mated to a single-speed transmission via a Centrifugal Wet Type clutch.
