The Mahindra S101's LED DRLs have been snapped for the first time. The car will be positioned in the B-segment that comprises of budget hatchbacks but it will be marketed as a compact SUV. The company has planned to announce the market name of the S101 on December 18, and it is reported that the name will be the Mahindra KUV100 with KUV standing for 'Kompact Utility Vehicle.'
The S101 features a crossover-esque styling with a boxy snout, a high-set bonnet, a signature Mahindra grille, a simple headlamp assembly, front fog lamps, lower body cladding including plastic wheel arches, alloy wheels, roof rails, and a rear wiper with a washer.

The interior is expected to have a six-seat layout with seating for three at the front and three at the rear, a dashboard-mounted gear console, a simple multimedia system with Bluetooth and USB connectivities, steering mounted audio controls, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and a fabric seat upholstery.
A newly developed 1.2-liter petrol engine is confirmed for the KUV100.
