The Mahindra TUV300 which was launched in September is receiving a higher than anticipated demand for its AMT-equipped variants, according to Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive for the automotive division of Mahindra & Mahindra, via Economic Times. Of the seven versions the TUV300 is offered in, only two have the AMT system, which are the mid-level T6+ and the top-end T8+. They are priced at INR 8.52 lakhs and INR lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune) respectively.
Last month it was reported that around 15,500 bookings of the TUV300 were received by the company, of which 40-45 percent were for the automatic variant. The recent report states that over 16,000 orders have been taken since the car's launch and 12,700 deliveries have been made thus far. Pravin Shah also mentioned that the company will increase the rate of production to ensure faster deliveries and shorter waiting period.
Mahindra has announced plans to launch the TUV300 in Nepal shortly, which will be followed by markets in Europe, Africa and South America.
