Looks like the hell’s been let loose on Mercedes with new spyshots, leaked images and classified information emerging on the internet, almost every hour today!
Yet again, a video of the 2013 S-Class (code - W222 for short wheelbase and V222 for long wheelbase) test mule being driven in Almeria, Spain has been posted on YouTube. This is the same mule caught about two weeks back, (if you haven’t seen it, click here) sporting the same proportions. On this mule, the equipment under the skin is being tested.
The car is heavily camouflaged with circular LED lights taking the place of the stoplights. Headlights seem to follow the design direction started by the A-Class concept, also expected to feature on the facelifted E-Class. The hood gets a more muscular shape and the front grill sits more upright now. The ORVMs differ from previous spottings and are shaped like the ones on the current E-class.
As we mentioned earlier, the interiors will be inspired by the F800 concept making use of high quality materials and marine-style seats. The new S-Class is expected to make its world debut by late 2012 and by the second half of 2013 it is expected to be launched in India. It usually takes Mercedes India six months to bring down a new model. The long wheelbase S-Class, which Mercedes sells in India, is not expected to be available internationally in 2012.
