Company plans to start a third shift of production.
Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Managing Director and country CEO of Renault India, has divulged to IAB that the company has received 110,000 bookings for the Renault Kwid.
To cope with the increasing demand, Renault India is planning to start a third shift to increase the production number of the Renault Kwid to 10,000 units per month.
The company is also commencing export operations to countries such as Mauritius and Sri Lanka, with more markets to follow soon. It will also be exported as parts and components to South American and, possibly, European markets.
In the Indian market, the Kwid has an 8 month waiting period, while prices were increased by up to INR 11,000 last month. The top-end RXT (O) variant now costs INR 3,64,130 (previously INR 3,53,131), ex-showroom, while the base variant which was launched at INR 2,56,968, is bumped to INR 2,59,968 (ex-showroom).
Renault India plans on launching the Kwid 1.0-liter and the Kwid AMT variants later in the calendar year. They were showcased at the Auto Expo last month.
