The second monocoque platform for Mahindra.
New spyshots of the Mahindra XUV100 (codenamed Mahindra S101), snapped by Jaspal Singh, show the compact car with rear door handles mounted near the windows, a design which is seen on the Chevrolet Beat.
The test mule's wheelcaps appear to be the final design, with the Mahindra logo having been masked out. However, Mahindra is likely to offer alloy wheels on the top-end variant.
To recap, the XUV100 is based on an all-new front-wheel drive monocoque platform, and will be driven by three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. It will debut a petrol engine for Mahindra, which is likely to be a 1.2-liter unit. The diesel engine could be borrowed from the TUV300. The engines will be paired to manual and automated manual transmissions.
Spyshots of its interior have shown a foldable middle seat up front, a column mounted gearlever, a three-spoke steering wheel and rotary knobs for the HVAC unit.

With a launch announced to take place this year, the XUV100 will rival the Maruti Wagon R primarily, with prices expected to start at INR 4 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
