IAB reader Hans has shared images of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift he spotted undergoing tests in Delhi. The facelift gains minor cosmetic updates and reportedly, new engine options as well.
As per the spotter, the test mule had a sunroof-like cutout. Maruti could add this feature to the Ciaz to level up with rivals Honda City and Hyundai Verna. The spy shots also reveal a revised tail lamp cluster with repositioned reverse lamps and smaller turn indicators. Other changes to the rear, if any, remain hidden beneath the dense camouflage. Previously published images revealed a redone front end with a new bumper and a sleeker grille.
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz will be offered with new 1.5 L petrol and diesel engines replacing the existing 1.4 L petrol and 1.3 L diesel units. The petrol engine will be a 1.5 L K15B unit, which will benefit from SHVS mild hybrid technology.
