Maruti Suzuki has commenced road testing of the facelifted Maruti Ciaz ahead of its launch this year. Incorporating changes from spy photos, IAB’s digital artist Shoeb Kalania has created a rendering of the 2018 Maruti Ciaz.
The 2018 Maruti Ciaz is expected to feature subtle exterior changes, mostly at the front. The radiator grille, with a new design, is expected to get slimmer. The revised bumper should have a more muscular styling on the outer ends. The central air intake grille and fog lamp housing too are expected to undergo revisions. One more change likely at the front is the application of a hood applique. On the sides, the new Ciaz could feature new 16-inch precision-cut two-tone alloy wheels.
There’s no word on the interior changes due in the Maruti Ciaz with the mid-cycle update. However, not much is expected to change other than the trim and upholstery. Maruti Suzuki could bring improvements to the Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system. The Maruti Ciaz is currently available with a 1.4-litre VVT petrol and a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine. The company has successfully tested a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house in the car, but it is unknown whether it plans to introduce it with the MY2018 update.
