According to a report from The Times of India, MSIL will launch the 2018 Maruti Ciaz in August.
The pre-facelift Maruti Ciaz is noticeably underpowered compared to its competitors. Maruti Suzuki will replace both the engines of the sedan with the mid-cycle refresh, as per the report. In place of the 1.4-litre petrol engine (92.45 PS/130 Nm), the 2018 Maruti Ciaz will get a 1.5-litre petrol engine. An all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house will replace the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine (90 PS/200 Nm). Maruti Suzuki may continue offering mild-hybrid technology in the diesel model.
The new Maruti Ciaz will have visual changes at the front and rear and some minor interior changes as well. As depicted in our speculative rendering above based on spy shots, the facelifted Maruti Ciaz is likely to have a wider radiator grille, chrome hood garnish, revised lower air intake and fog lamp housing and a more dynamic bumper at the front.
On the sides, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz may feature new 16-inch precision-cut two-tone alloy wheels. Changes at the rear may include restyled bumper and tweaked tail lamps. Inside, Maruti Suzuki may introduce fresh trim and upholstery and upgrade the Smartplay infotainment system for improved functioning.
