Last month, Hyundai India launched the Eon with a more powerful 1.0-liter engine to fight competition coming from the Maruti Alto K10 (due for a complete makeover next year) and Datsun Go. The Eon 1.0-liter uses a three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine to make 69 PS and 9.6 kgm of torque. Compared to the regular Eon, the 1.0-liter variant achieves 20.3 km/l. Hyundai has not introduced this variant in Sri Lanka.

Apart from the 1.0-liter Eon, Hyundai India also sells the small car in an LPG variant.
