The Yamaha R15 v3.0 is confirmed to receive technology and safety updates.

Based on recent spy images of the Yamaha R15 v3.0 test unit, MotoBlast has revealed a new rendering of the upcoming motorcycle.

Yamaha R15 rendering
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 (codename - Yamaha BG7) has been rendered with chrome upside down forks.

At the heart of the motorcycle will be an engine displacing around 155 cc. The engine will also get Variable Valve Actuation to help produce the required amount of power the moment you flick the wrist across all rev range. Output figures though have not been revealed.

The 149 cc SOHC single cylinder present in the Yamaha R15 v2.0 is capable of producing 17 PS of maximum power and 15 Nm of peak torque. The rendering shows the motorcycle flaunting an upside down front fork and an exhaust canister similar to the present one. The headlamp bears a strong resemblance to Aprilia’s litre class flagship.

In the production version, the twin headlamp setup is expected to be sleeker and will house LEDs. ABS, though not seen in any of the test units yet, is a sure-shot addition. Yamaha India recently made Auto Headlamp On (AHO) as a standard feature on the Yamaha R15 and we expect it to be present in the 2017 Yamaha R15.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 launch for India should be completed in mid-2017. Prior to that, Yamaha India has a mystery product coming our way on January 24, 2017, which could be the Yamaha FZ250.
