To launch in early H2 2016.
A video of the VW Ameo testing without any camouflage post its unveil has surfaced online, courtesy of YouTube user Javed Shaikh. The sub-4m sedan is confirmed to launch in early H2 2016, just ahead of the festive season.
The exterior of the VW Ameo can be briefly described as a VW Polo with a stubby boot. The front-end features the familiar angular headlamps, sleek dual slat grille, rectangular foglamps housed within the central intake, while the rear-end has new taillamps and a sculpted boot.
The interior has a design identical to the Polo and Vento. It is finished in a dual tone black and beige, and features silver trim on the center console, multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel with manual adjustability and a Bluetooth-enabled Mirrorlink infotainment system
Engine lineup includes a 1.5-liter TDI engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG, and a 1.2-liter three-cylinder MPI petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency and power output figures will be revealed closer to launch.
