After launching the Triber and the new Duster in India earlier this year, Renault will introduce a facelifted version of the Kwid. The company has now also launched an official short teaser clip of the same highlighting some of the new updates and hinting that its launch date is near by.

The 2020 Renault Kwid features a thoroughly updated front fascia and features high-set LED DRLs, new radiator grille, two-tier headlamps and a sportier lower grille. These updates have been targeted to pull back the customer's interest which is believed to have weaken in the recent past years due to non-availability of a proper update or a facelift model. A previous report hinted that it will be launched in the early October this year and will be sold in a total of four variants, though detailed description or names of the same haven't been made public yet.

The short teaser video (above) highlights Kwid's updated design along with high-set LED DRLs and tweaked combination lamps with LED tail lights. Though, clearer details were revealed very recently when the car was spotted in a fully undisguised form.

On the inside, the new Renault Kwid is all-set to receive Triber's LED instrument cluster and 8-inch MediaNAV Evolution touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with that, it will also employ a new steering wheel. It is also expected to feature new upholstery and trim to make the cabin feel more lively and fresher than before. Also, it is said to receive minor structural upgrades to pass the upcoming (BNVSAP) crash tests.

In terms of engines, it will sport the same 0.8-litre SCe petrol engine (54 PS/72 Nm) and 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine (68 PS/91 Nm), but in the updated BS-VI versions. The engines will be mated to a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT.

The 2020 Renault Kwid will be pitted against the Maruti S-Presso and the Datsun redi-GO.
