The next-gen 2019 Grand i10 will be next all-new Hyundai model globally following the Venue. After a report at the start of this month, another report says that it will be launched in India on 20 August.

New Hyundai Grand i10 will be built on the same platform as the recently launched Hyundai Venue, this platform will also be used for the Kia Picanto and Kia's subcompact SUV codenamed QYI.

Like the recently launched Venue, all-new Grand i10 will go on sale in India first globally. The sales of the next-gen Grand i10 will commence on the same day as the launch. While it may not use the 'Grand' prefix in its name in Europe, it is expected this time that the dimensions will be the same.

Hyundai recently teased an all-new model for Europe, saying that it will unveil this model at IAA 2019 in September and "aims to go big" with the same. This suggests that maybe Europe too will switch to the long-wheelbase Grand i10 with the lifecycle makeover. Such a move would help the company reduce its development and production costs. In the second generation, when the i10 adopted the 'Grand' prefix in India, the Euro-spec version was 100 mm smaller in length and had a 40 mm smaller wheelbase.

The all-new Hyundai Grand i10 will be larger in terms of its wheelbase and roof height. It is said to be built on the same platform as the recently launched Hyundai Venue, this platform will also be used for the next-gen Kia Picanto and the Kia sub-4 metre SUV codenamed 'Kia QYI'. The next-gen Grand i10 development has been carried out in India and South Korea. India will make cars for most regions, while Turkey will manufacture it for Europe.

The Indian-spec 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will make use of two engines. One option will be the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol unit and the other option will be the 1.2-litre U2 CRDi diesel unit, but unlike in the outgoing model, both will be BS-VI compliant. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual will be the transmission choices. The report says that a turbocharged GDi engine and a DCT will also be included among options.
