Will be officially unveiled on June 17.
Courtesy of an image from Auto Express, the final exterior design of the Mercedes GLC has been revealed by the car's on-board COMAND infotainment system. Mercedes have confirmed that the compact SUV will make its debut on June 17.
Judging by the image, the GLC appears to be featuring the optional AMG kit, as seen in the 2-slat chrome grille, large air inlets in the lower fascia, sportier bumper, and 5-spoke alloy rims. The grille is flanked by new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, while the side profile features the strong character lines that define the designs of latest Mercs.
Although the rear has not been revealed, spyshots have shown that it will feature new horizontal wraparound LED taillamps, subtle roof spoiler, and a dual exhaust system.
As reported before, the BMW X3-beater will receive a C-Class-inspired interior that is equipped with a central free-standing 7-inch LCD display navigated via a Touchpad-equipped COMAND infotainment, metal-finished round HVAC vents, 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, ARTICO leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and a wood trimmed center console.
The GLC will come with an optional off-road pack that gives Ice, Offroad, Uphill/Downhill, and Trailer driving programs. Special off-road tyres with 18-inch wheels can also be ordered, notes Auto Express. Another optional extra is the AIRMATIC air suspension which can give a 50 mm increased ride height.
The Mercedes GLC will share the MRA RWD platform with the C-Class, which can pack a wide range of engines. So expect a plug-in hybrid, turbocharged 2.0L and 3.0L engines and a V6 AMG Sport variant. The recently introduced 1.6-liter dCi Renault diesel engine could also be in the cards for entry-level variants in the future. Top variants will offer Mercedes 4MATIC AWD system as standard.
