May also be launched in India.
Details continue to emerge about the Maruti Baleno BoosterJet variant, with latest spy shots from GaadiWaadi.com suggesting that the model will be equipped with rear disc brakes. The images also show the model receiving alloy wheels that are different from those in the Indian variants.
Though the Maruti Baleno BoosterJet is an export-only variant, it will be produced in India for export to over 100 countries. Officials of the company have already confirmed to IAB that the entire engine will be manufactured in India. The export version is badged as a Suzuki and will be powered by an all-new three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 110 hp and 170 Nm of peak torque. A second petrol motor, a 1.25-liter DualJet engine with SVHS (Smart Vehicle Hybrid by Suzuki), will also be offered.
While the latter will not be launched for the Indian market as it fails to comply with the small car legislation, it is the 1.0-liter BoosterJet motor that is expected be lurking under the hood of the upcoming Maruti Baleno RS Concept, which will make its debut at the Auto Expo 2016. There isn't much clarity on when this model would be launched in India.
