Will be more fuel efficient than the regular 1.2 petrol variant, reportedly.
Courtesy of GaadiWaadi, a couple of spyshots of the Maruti Baleno Boosterjet has surfaced online. It will launch in India as the Maruti Baleno RS during the festive season.
Maruti is testing the Baleno in the export-spec Boosterjet variant, which packs an all new 1.0L three cylinder turbocharged engine. It produces 110 hp and 170 Nm of torque in export-spec, and is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
As stated above, the Baleno Boosterjet will be sold as the hotter Baleno RS variant, which will feature a mesh-pattern grille, sportier front bumper with a wider radiator intake and silver underlining, side skirts, black-painted alloy wheels, roof spoiler and a lower rear bumper. The Maruti Baleno RS will also be equipped with rear-disc brakes, reportedly.

With a smaller, turbocharged engine, the Baleno RS will not only be more powerful than the regular 1.2 petrol variant, but also more fuel efficient. It will be Maruti's first product in India to pack the new Boosterjet engine, and more models could be fitted with this unit in the future.
