Over 27,000 units delivered since launch.
According to ET Auto, Maruti have received over 95,000 bookings for the Maruti Vitara Brezza since it was launched in March. So far, the company has sold over 27,000 units and is reported to increase the production rate this month to fulfill orders at a faster rate.
Waiting period for new customers ranges between 8-9 months, depending on the the grade chosen. Its popularity can be attributed to its highly competitive pricing. In a market where the compact SUV is becoming the most popular choice of bodystyle, the prospect of a Maruti sub-4m diesel-powered SUV priced between INR 6.99-9.68 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) was bound to raise attention.
And it has indeed made plenty of car buyers jump into the SUV bandwagon, as seen from the number of bookings received. In May 2016, the sub-4m SUV contributed to a 260.4 percent growth in Maruti’s range of utility vehicles compared to May 2015, making it one of Maruti's torchbearers for this year.
