Hero promises new model across segments in the coming months

Hero MotoCorp registered a growth of 8.7 percent in May 2017 on a YoY basis.

Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest selling two-wheeler manufacturer, recorded sales of 633,884 units in May 2017. In the same month last year, the company retailed 583,117 units.

Hero has 6 products lined up for this financial year and the management expects volumes to keep growing in the coming months. The official statement goes as:

Having lined up a slew of new launches across various segments, the Company is confident of maintaining the growth trajectory in the coming months.

Hero wants to go premium both in motorcycles and automatic scooters and the Hero Xtreme 200S is expected to be their first premium motorcycle. The bike is expected to launch next February at the Auto Expo. The 125 cc Hero Dare is set to be their first premium automatic scooter.

The company has also commenced production at the new manufacturing facility in Bangladesh which has an annual capacity of 150,000 units. This is Hero's second overseas manufacturing facility with the first being the plant in Colombia, operational since 2015.

The company is also betting big on the 125 cc motorcycle segment and currently retails three products including the brand new Hero Glamour SV pictured here.

While announcing a full pipeline, Hero MotoCorp has been trimming its product portfolio in India having already axed the Hero Hunk, Hero Xtreme, Hero Karizma, Hero Ignitor, Hero Passion Pro TR, Hero Passion XPro, Hero HF Dawn, Hero Splendor iSmart and Hero Splendor Pro Classic this year.
