The Hero Xtreme 200S is expected to be positioned as a premium urban commuter.
Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming commuter, the Hero Xtreme 200S will be launched in early 2018, reports Motorbeam. The management at the Auto Expo 2016, where the bike was unveiled, had said that the bike would come before the Auto Expo 2018.
The Hero Xtreme 200S tries to carry over the legacy of the CBZ family which now goes by just the Xtreme tag. Powering the machine is a 200 cc single cylinder, air cooled mill. The engine is capable of producing 18.6 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 17.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.

Hero MotoCorp will be using a diamond type frame in the Hero Xtreme 200S. The brakes will include discs at both ends while ABS will also be on offer. Suspended over standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock in the rear, the setup can be expected to be set on the softer side to tackle typical Indian road conditions.

The Hero Xtreme 200S will be challenging the likes of Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and TVS Apache RTR 200. In a recent interview, the MD of Hero Motocorp hinted that the Xtreme would be the next high capacity motorcycle from the company.
