The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was discontinued in 2015 in India.
In an attempt to expand its market share in the 200 cc+ segment in India, Bajaj Auto will relaunch the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in the coming weeks. With reports of the same coming in often from different sources, this time it is Bajaj that has confirmed the motorcycle’s comeback via a social media teaser.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was discontinued in 2015 to give breathing space to the new launches, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the semi-faired Pulsar AS200. However, both the bikes did not find many takers. The 2017 edition of the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS was recently showcased at a dealer event in Turkey.
Introduced first in 2012, the Pulsar 200NS was in a different league than the rest of the Bajaj Pulsar family. A lot of hard work had gone into refinement and build quality. The 199.5 cc triple spark mill was derived from the KTM Duke 200. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of producing 23.52 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm.
Reports had come in earlier that the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 200NS would begin retail by mid-January and will meet the upcoming BSIV emission norms. Expect an official announcement soon.
