The 150AS is likely to be based on an all-new perimeter frame.
Having launched the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 last week, Bajaj Auto will now focus on the Adventure tourer segment. Spyshots have revealed that Bajaj is working on a 200AS and a 150AS, the latter having been snapped on test recently by Mr. Priyank Chhapwale of Autocar India.
The 150AS, according to the report will be based on an all-new perimeter frame, and will feature plenty of lightweight parts like alloy wheels, alloy footrests and sub-frames. Designers have given the motorcycle a well-styled quarter fairing and a muscular tank, not to mention the visor which appears to blend in nicely.
Power for the 150AS will come from a single-cylinder four stroke 150 cc engine fed by a carburetor. A fuel injected version is not expected. The transmission will be a 5-speed gearbox like in the current Pulsar 150, but what remains to be seen is if the power and torque outputs are improved from the regular 150.
Even though the 150AS will be positioned below the 200AS, Bajaj will still equip it with projector headlight, illuminated switches, a petal type front disc and alloy wheels. ABS, or even a rear disc, would not be offered on the motorcycle.

According to the report, the 150AS is weeks away from launch. Post the launch of the perimeter-framed 150AS, Bajaj is likely to upgrade the regular Pulsar 150 to a perimeter frame layout as well.
