The Bajaj Dominar 400 gets an engine which can be traced back to the KTM Duke 390.
In an interview with Autocar Professional, Mr Eric Vas, President, Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto, has revealed that the demand for the ABS variant of Bajaj Dominar 400 is more than the less expensive non-ABS version.
India has traditionally been a very price conscious market, and safety features come at a price. However, with the market going premium, Bajaj Auto believes that customers spending more than INR 100,000 on a motorcycle will want additional active safety features, even if it makes the bike a few thousand rupees more expensive.

At the time, we did not know how much it would sell (Bajaj Pulsar RS200). Later, we were pleasantly surprised that more than 50 percent of the RS 200’s sales came from the ABS variant. When we launched the Dominar 400, we had an ABS option. The sale of the ABS variant is far more than the non-ABS variant.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will soon be mandatory on all motorcycles sold in India as per a recent government notification. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is Bajaj’s most powerful motorcycle yet. The 373.3 cc single cylinder triple spark mill is capable of producing 35 PS of maximum power and 35 Nm of peak torque.
The non-ABS version of the Bajaj Dominar 400 has been priced at INR 1,36,001 while the ABS trim costs INR 150,002 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
