A 2018 Ford EcoSport was recently spied sans-camouflage in India, by YouTube user Vijay S. Here’s a brief walkaround video of the facelifted model posted by the YouTuber.
It’s not news that the Indian-spec 2018 Ford EcoSport gets the same new styling introduced with the U.S.-spec version late last year. The new spy video is just an affirmation. The facelifted model features a fresh face inspired by the Ford Edge and Ford Kuga. Key changes include a new hexagonal grille with larger headlamps on its flanks, triangular fog lamps and a restyled bumper. Inside, the spy video does show a new floating display for the SYNC 3 infotainment. Other changes would include new steering wheel, instrument cluster, centre console and a dashboard grab bar.
Besides styling and equipment, the 2018 Ford EcoSport will have a change in the engine compartment. Ford will introduce the new 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in the small SUV with the facelift. This ‘Dragon’ series engine will have a maximum output of around 120 PS. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine will continue. Ford may discontinue one of the petrol engines: 1.5-litre Ti-VCT and 1.0-litre EcoBoost, likely the former.

A report last month said that the 2018 Ford EcoSport will go on sale in India in November. Ford will announce the new model by early October. The company has invited the media to the Sanand plant in the first week of October to brief on the new engine family.
