Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 – IAB Rendering

IAB’s in-house designer Shoeb R Kalania has rendered a bigger-capacity Himalayan, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650.
Royal Enfield CEO and Managing Director, Mr Siddhartha Lal confirmed that the brand is working on a bigger capacity Himalayan. After the world reveal of Royal Enfield’s all-new 650 cc parallel twin engine it is expected that the company will employ the engine in the adventure bike as well. The speculative rendering features a matte black paint finish. The round headlamp gets a fly-screen to protect the rider from wind blasts at high speeds.
The handlebar is raised, and the single piece seat ensures comfortable ergonomics. The footpegs placement aid in stand-up riding as well. The pillion seat ends with a small space for saddlebags, and there is a tail rack as well. The saddle stays prevent the bags from touching the exhaust.
In the Royal Enfield 650 Twins, the 648cc SOHC parallel twin mill makes 47 PS of power at 7,100 rpm; and 52 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine mates with an all-new 6-speed transmission with slip-assist clutch. Expect Royal Enfield to tune this engine to suit the character of this motorcycle.
Beefy front fork with gaiters hold the front spoke wheel, while the rear gets a link-type monoshock. The wheels are shod with knobby tyres for optimal off-road performance. The exhaust is a two-to-one unit with dual exits. Brakes include disc on both ends with switchable ABS.
If Royal Enfield decides to launch this motorcycle in India, it would lock horns with SWM’s upcoming SuperDual; Kawasaki Versys 650, and the Benelli TNT 600 GT. The company launched the BS 4 fuel injected variant of the Himalayan in September, this year.
