In August we reported that the BS IV compliant Royal Enfield Himalayan FI has started reaching dealerships and was available for test rides. Now, RushLane has shed light on the pricing of the Royal Enfield Himalayan FI.
According to the report, the bike is priced at INR 1.66 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai) with an on-road price of around INR 2 lakhs. Bookings for the Royal Enfield Himalayan are open and can be made for an amount of INR 5,000. There's a waiting period of around 2 months currently for the bike. In the first phase of production, the company is shipping only limited number of units to dealers. Royal Enfield wants to gauge customer response and gather feedback before increasing production, the report added.
The motorcycle is powered by a single cylinder air cooled 411 cc engine with fuel injection. It produced max power of 24.5 bhp @ 6,500 rpm and the peak torque of 32 Nm comes in at 4,250 rpm. The gearbox is a 5-speed unit. There are 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. A 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear handle braking duties. Snow and Granite are the only two colour options customers can choose from.
Royal Enfield launched the Himalayan last year in March. Sales of the bike had been suspended since April 2017 due to non-compliance to BS 4 emission norms and to fix quality issues that have plagued the bike since its launch.
