Malaysia could get the Innova from the Indonesian manufacturing plant.
The 2016 Toyota Innova has been spied testing in Malaysia by Paultan reader Daran. Introduced first in Indonesia in November last year, the second generation Toyota Innova was launched in India just months back, in May, and has over 30,000 bookings to speak for.
The 2016 Toyota Innova measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,795 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. In India, the all-new Innova is sold as the Innova Crysta, and offered in 7- and 8-seat versions.
Currently two engine options are offered in India: 2GD-FTV and 1GD-FTV. The 2GD-FTV is a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 110 kW (150 PS) at 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque at 1,400-2,800 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard for this engine model. The 1GD-FTV is a 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 128 kW (174 PS) at 3,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 1,200-3,400 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
In other markets, the 2016 Toyota Innova is offered with the 1TR-FE 139 PS 2.0-litre Dual VVT-i naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine as well as the 2TR-FE 164 hp 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. In Malaysia, the first-gen model is currently sold only with the 1TR-FE engine.
