The Scrambler is made at Ducati's Thailand plant for global markets.
Sources have confirmed to Indian Autos Blog that Ducati India Private Limited, the newly introduced subsidiary of the Italian bike manufacturer, will launch the new Scrambler next month.
The Scrambler made its global debut at the INTERMOT 2014 in Cologne, Germany, in September last year. The motorcycle will appeal to "non-conformists" according to the company with its neo-retro styling.
And speaking of styling, the Scrambler's minimalistic design features a classic, circular headlight with a LED outline, a single-sided rear mudguard, an eccentric instrument dial and a floating seat. The motorcycle rests on a twin-spar steel trellis structure and gets Kayaba inverted telescopic forks up front and an offset monoshock for the rear.
The 803 cc L-twin motor makes 75 PS and 67.7 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. Ducati claims a dry kerb weight of 170 kg. Stopping power comes from a 330 mm disc up front and a 245 mm disc at the rear with two-channel ABS as standard. Ducati offers Pirelli tyres as standard.

Ducati manufactures the Scrambler at its Thailand plant for global export markets. Price wise, the motorcycle would compete with the Triumph Bonneville, which is priced from INR 5.7-6.6 lakhs for the T100 variant. The Scrambler will retail from the brand's already set-up dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon.
