The Maruti SX4 S-Cross was spotted on tests yet again, this time near the company's Gurgaon factory. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the S-Cross is set to go on sale in India in early 2015.
The Duster-rivaling crossover measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, 1,575 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. In its debut market in Europe, the S-Cross is offered with 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines.
The petrol and diesel engine both make 120 PS (118.3 bhp) of power. However, in terms of torque, the petrol does with 156 Nm while the diesel churns 320 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT can be specced on the petrol, and a 6-speed manual is seen on the diesel. Both engine variants can be had with 2WD or Suzuki's ALLGRIP 4WD technology.
In India, the S-Cross had its premiere at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Reports indicate that the car will launch in the country with a Peugeot-sourced diesel engine, and not the 1.6-liter Fiat Multijet engine.
