The Yamaha R15 v2.0 gained a new variant, the Yamaha R15 S, in September 2015.
Prices of the Yamaha R15 v2.0 and Yamaha R15S have reduced after the introduction of the GST (Goods and Services Tax) on July 1. All prices in this article are ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Yamaha R15 v2.0 carries a price tag of INR 118,838, down from INR 119,788. The bike is powered by a 149 cc liquid-cooled mill coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The fuel injected engine is capable of producing 17 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm.
The list price of the solo seat variant, Yamaha R15S, which had a price tag of INR 116,656, has been reduced to INR 115,746. The motorcycle uses the same engine but produces a slightly reduced power output of 16.58 PS. The Yamaha R15S tips the scales at 134 kg and is 2 kg lighter than the Yamaha R15 v2.0.
Yamaha has launched the Yamaha R15 v3.0 in Indonesia which gets a 155.1 cc mill with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. However, an Indian launch is not on the cards anytime soon.
