The Yamaha R15 v3.0 will gain several new premium parts.
Post the unofficial unveil of the LED headlamps and front design, Indonesian design house, Julak Sendie Design, have incorporated them in a new rendering.
At the heart of the motorcycle is expected to be a new single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected mill with a displacement of around 155 cc. The powertrain will also get Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) which will help the engine produce ideal levels of power across the rev range. The problem of low-end power in the Yamaha R15 may be finally left behind by the v3.0.
The bike will also get upside down forks up front which will help it absorb bumps better. The inclusion of LED headlamps, as inspired by the competition, will help the motorcycle be better suited for riding in the dark.
The Yamaha R15 v3.0 will get several technical and safety updates and the one which we would love to see is the inclusion of ABS at least as an option. However, not even a single unit spotted so far has been seen with an ABS ring. The chassis is expected to continue to be a deltabox unit like the present version.
The Yamaha R15 v2.0 houses a 149 cc mill which is capable of producing 17 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm, which will be far exceeded by the Yamaha R15 v3.
