Yamaha is looking to plug the gap between Yamaha R15 and Yamaha R3 with a street naked.
Yamaha India’s upcoming mystery product, expected to be called Yamaha FZ 250 has been spotted again. The uncamouflaged images have been shared by Rushlane.
At the heart of the bike is what seems to be a 250 cc single cylinder air cooled mill with an oil cooler assisting it. The engine visually resembles the one seen in the Yamaha Fazer 250 sold in the Brazilian market.
The 249.45 cc mill in the Fazer 250 is capable of producing 20.7PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 20.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Hopefully, Yamaha India will spruce things up a bit to offer it as a more performance centric motorcycle.
The headlamp and taillamp have been sourced from the Yamaha Xabre sold in Indonesia (Yamaha MSlaz in certain markets). The exhaust canister shows strong inspirations drawn from the Yamaha FZ v2.0. Other features include split seats and digital instrumentation (shaped somewhat like the one seen in the Yamaha Fazer 250). Disc brakes are present all around and the callipers have been sourced from Brembo’s low-cost arm, Bybre.
The uncamouflaged state of the test unit and its production readiness leads to the possibility of an early 2017 launch. Expect the Yamaha FZ250 to be priced in the range of INR 1.4 lakhs to 1.7 lakhs.
