The TVS Apache RTR 160 has a 1,300 mm wheelbase.
A new test unit of the TVS Apache RTR 160 has been spotted by YouTube user The Gearhead Bureau. The bike bears the shape and styling of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V but gets a drum brake in the rear.
Moving away from the dual shocks setup the bike gets a rear monoshock. The Apache 200 was the first TVS badged production vehicle to get a monoshock. The brake lights and the fuel tank extension also follow the styling language seen in the Apache 200. The front telescopic suspension gets thinner tubes. A rear disc brake version may also be on offer just like the present version but the single seat layout will be standard.
The exhaust canister too has a dual barrel setup while the instrumentation console too is the same white backlit LCD display. The upcoming TVS Apache RTR 160 continues to get an air-cooled engine. The present version of the motorcycle gets a 159.7 cc mill which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 15.2 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 13.1 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
The output of the updated TVS Apache RTR 160 can be expected to be slightly higher than the present version. The test unit also sports a petal disc in the front and a 137 kg kerb weight. The TVS Apache RTR 160 has a ground clearance of 165 mm.
