Toyota has two joint ventures in China that make the Vios.
For markets outside China, the Toyota Yaris L Sedan, which has been leaked here by 163.com, could be the facelifted Toyota Vios.
The Toyota Yaris L Sedan measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,490 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. The Yaris L Sedan is 30 mm longer and 15 mm taller compared to the current (Thai-spec) Vios. Save for a few changes, such as distinctive tail lamps and differently styled bumper, the sedan version features the familiar design.
The Toyota Yaris L Sedan is expected to be offered with the same 99 hp 1.3-litre and 107 hp 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engines from the Toyota Yaris L hatchback. The engines will probably be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed continuously variable transmission.
With the Toyota Yaris L hatchback priced from 69,800 yuan (INR 6,89,012.88), the Toyota Yaris L Sedan can be expected to start at around 75,000 yuan (INR 7,40,343.36) in China. It will be sold by the GAC-Toyota joint venture. As for the facelifted Toyota Vios' arrival in the ASEAN region, a specific launch timeline is not available yet.
The facelift of the FAW-Toyota JV's Vios has been selling in China following its premiere at Auto China 2016, giving Toyota internationally two designs to pick from for the Vios facelift.
