Will go on sale in January 2017 in European markets.
Suzuki has confirmed that the 2016 Paris Motor Show will host the European debut of the Suzuki Ignis crossover next month. Along with the Suzuki Ignis's European debut, this year's Paris Motor Show will also stage the 2016 Suzuki S-Cross's (facelift) public debut. The Suzuki Ignis will be launched in the UK and other first European markets in January 2017.
The Suzuki Ignis is the production version of the Suzuki iM-4 concept showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It shares the company's new generation lightweight platform with the Baleno. The fourth generation Suzuki Swift will also be based on the same platform, according to sources.
Suzuki hasn't revealed the European specifications of the Suzuki Ignis, but has mentioned that it will be offered with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology. The engine options could be the same as in the Suzuki Baleno.

In India, the Maruti Ignis will be available with the 1.2litre K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Transmission choices will include 5-speed manual and AGS (Auto Gear Shift), reportedly. The Maruti Ignis will rival with the Mahindra KUV100 in India. Its launch has reportedly been delayed to cope-up with the backlog of the Vitara Brezza and Baleno's orders.
