The Suzuki iM-4 made its Chinese debut at Auto Shanghai 2015 today, following its world premiere in Geneva last month. The iM-4 Concept is based on an all-new platform which would underpin more future Suzuki products.
The iM-4 is a compact crossover concept that measures just 3,693 mm long with a high ground clearance and all-wheel drive.
The Suzuki iM-4 is built to deliver a product that has grown in popularity in recent times. The concept harnesses power from a DUALJET engine, which is a 1.2-liter unit that promises good fuel economy and better throttle response. A brake energy recuperation system further helps boost mileage, and also part of the drivetrain is an an all-wheel drive system.
On the outside, the iM-4 is designed around a concept theme of “Shape of Inspiration” to create an iconic mini 4X4. The front fascia is dominated by a single unit grille and headlamp graphic and a conventional wraparound bumper. Short overhangs, raised ride height and a cabin designed for better ingress and egress define the side profile. The rear gets a quirky trapezoidal tail lamps with C-shaped elements.
Suzuki confirmed the car's production ambition last month, but did not say when it will go on sale.
