Two engine options on offer.
The Suzuki Baleno will have its market launch in the U.K. on June 1, 2016. Ahead of its launch, Suzuki has detailed the specifications and prices of the hatchback which will be made-in-India and exported to U.K. and other parts of Europe.
For the British market, the Baleno will be offered with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine developing 111 PS and 170 Nm of torque when equipped with a 5MT or 160 Nm of torque with a 6AT. The manual accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11.4 seconds while the automatic takes only 11 seconds.
The other engine option is a 1.2-liter DualJet engine with the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) micro-hybrid technology. Like the Maruti Ciaz SHVS, the system combines an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) which assists the engine during vehicle acceleration and also generates electricity through regenerative braking, a lithium-ion battery placed under the front passenger seat to store energy, and an idle stop function.
Standard features on the Baleno include six airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, HID headlights, satellite navigation, DAB Radio with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter and front power windows.
