In latest updates about the Classic 500 Pegasus backlash, a Royal Enfield dealership has reportedly offered one of the upcoming 650 Twins as a replacement for the angry owners. Owners can exchange their Classic 500 Pegasus edition and take home either the Interceptor INT 650 or the Continental GT 650 when they are launched in November 2018. They would have to pay the price difference between the two motorcycles, say multiple reports this week.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Limited Edition motorcycle was offered in two colour options - Service Brown & Olive Drab Green. It was limited to 1,000 units worldwide, with 250 reserved for India.

Owners of the Classic 500 Pegasus edition can also exchange their vehicle for any other Royal Enfield motorcycle. Owners can opt to keep the bike and get extended warranty period of one year, two free services (over the existing ones) and a helmet. There is no announcement from Royal Enfield about any exchange offer, and these options are communicated by owners as coming from the dealers' side.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus edition, which was limited to 250 units for the Indian market, was sold out within three minutes during a flash sale organised in July 2018. However, customers who managed to book the motorcycle online were shocked when Royal Enfield launched the Classic 350 Signals Edition in August 2018.

Classic 500 Pegasus owners protested that the Classic 350 Signals Edition looked identical to the limited edition 500cc motorcycle that they purchased and was sold for a cheaper price tag. The Classic 350 Signals edition also received ABS, a feature that was not offered on the Indian spec Classic 500 Pegasus. As reported in September 2018, Royal Enfield had announced the Classic 500 Pegasus with dual-channel ABS for Argentina.

The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus was available in two colour options and was limited to 1,000 units worldwide. Visually, the motorcycle received a unique Pegasus emblem and an individually stencilled serial number, resembling the 250th Airborne Light Company that served during World War II, on the fuel tank. A 'Made Like a Gun' decal is printed on the battery box. Other features included black painted rims, headlight bezel, pedals, leather strap with brass buckles across the air filter, brown handlebar grips as well as a bespoke set of military inspired canvas panniers with a Pegasus logo.
