Just 30 units of the motorcycle have been reserved for Argentina, 15 of which are available in green while the others in brown. Registrations for sale is between September 13 and 27, 2018. Unlike in India, the Argentinian spec Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus features a dual-channel ABS.

Of the total 1,000 units, 250 were earmarked for India. All the units were sold out within three minutes after the online sale commenced on July 25, 2018. The motorcycle is sold in two colour options, which are officially called – Olive Drab Green and Service Brown. Unique features on the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus include a special Pegasus emblem and an individually stencilled serial number, resembling the 250th Airborne Light Company which served during World War II. A 'Made Like a Gun' decal is printed on the battery box.

Other features black painted rims, headlight bezel, pedals, leather strap with brass buckles across the air filter, brown handlebar grips as well as a bespoke set of military inspired canvas panniers with a Pegasus logo.

Mechanical specifications remain identical to the standard Royal Enfield Classic 500 and the Pegasus Edition continues to draw 27.2 hp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm from the 499cc single cylinder, air-cooled, fuel injected engine. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Stopping power is provided a 280 mm disc with 2 piston caliper at the front and 240 mm disc with single-piston caliper at the rear. The safety net of a dual-channel ABS comes as standard, a feature or rather the lack of it that has led to a major controversy in India. Suspension duties are performed by a conventional telescopic suspension at the front while at the rear is a twin gas-charged shock absorbers.

Mark Wells, Director of Global Product Strategy and Design at Royal Enfield explained (translated):

These new Classic 500 Pegasus motorcycles hold much of the history and legacy of Royal Enfield. This is something that only Royal Enfield could have done. Many brands have military motorcycles in the past, but only Royal Enfield has the Flying Flea.
