The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 will launch in India on 14 November, dealer sources privy to the information have disclosed to IAB. Royal Enfield had earlier confirmed to IAB that the 650 twins, which had their global debut at the EICMA 2017, will be launched in the home market by the end of this year.

The Royal Enfield 650 Twins were launched in the USA in September. The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 costs USD 5,999 (INR 4.42 lakh) onwards, while the Interceptor 650's prices start at USD 5,799 (INR 4.27 lakh) in America.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a neo-retro roadster with a timeless design and a modern heart. The motorcycle features a circular headlamp, round fuel tank, wide handlebar, long single-piece and chopped fenders at the front and back. The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, on the other hand, is a modern-classic café racer. It features a tear-drop fuel tank, clip-on handlebars and a single seat.

Both the bikes come shod with 18-inch wire-spoke wheels wrap in 100-section front and 130-section rear tube-type Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres. Unlike the tyres of the Triumph Bonneville Street Twin, the tyres of the 650 twins aren’t radial units. Anchorage comes from a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear rotor with standard dual-channel ABS.

The Royal Enfield 650 twins source power from an all-new 648 cc, parallel-twin cylinder, SOHC, oil-cooled, 8-valve engine that is capable of developing 47 bhp of maximum power at 7,100 rpm along with 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine is mated to Royal Enfield’s first 6-speed gearbox, with a standard slip-assist clutch.
