The smallest member of the Jeep family has been testing since January 2016.
A Jeep Renegade was spied testing on Indian roads alongside a Compass by IAB reader Abhishek Joshi. The Renegade is not in the plans for launch in India, although Jeep has confirmed the new Compass for this year, and is planning a new B segment SUV below the Renegade.
The RHD Jeep Renegade's interior has black leather seat upholstery with silver accents and comes with a leather steering wheel, climate control system, UConnect touchscreen system, 3.5-inch TFT instrument panel, rear parking sensors and cruise control. The Renegade is a strict 5-seater with a boot capacity of 354L.
Jeep India had imported two models for testing, both of which share a 2.0-liter MultiJet II diesel engine. The one featured has a 6-speed manual, while the other came equipped with a 9-speed automatic. This will also be the diesel powertrain serving the India-made Jeep Compass.
