World premiere at 2016 Geneva Motor Show expected.
Autohome has posted up close spyshots of the Renault Koleos successor (rumored to be called Renault Maxthon), and have also snapped the interior. The 7-seater SUV is expected to premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The interior design and features are in line with Renault latest product offerings like the Talisman, Megane, and Espace. It gets an 8.7-inch R-Link 2 potrait touchscreen unit, new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and an instrument cluster with a large tachometer. With the touchscreen system, Renault has reduced the button count significantly, when compared to the outgoing Renault Koleos.
The Renault Maxthon will reportedly measure 5 meters in overall length, which is much longer than the Renault Kadjar (4.45 m). It will not only ride on the Nissan X-Trail’s CMF platform, but also share certain internal components. The engine lineup could include the 1.6 TCe 150 hp and 200 hp petrol engines, 1.5 dCi with 110hp, and a 1.6 dCi with 130 hp or 160 hp.
Renault India has not confirmed plans of selling the Koleos’s successor. Instead, they will introduce the Duster-based Renault Grand Captur, which will offer contemporary Renault styling and 7 seats to rival the Mahindra XUV500, according to reports.
