The latest spy shots of the Ford EcoSport facelift shed light on the dashboard layout and the features on offer. These images published on Team BHP reveal the new touch screen unit and gives a glimpse of the UI.
The image of the dashboard reveals the new 8-inch touchscreen unit that will be the highlight of the interior updates. It will come installed with Ford's SYNC 3 AppLink infotainment setup as evident from the image here. There are two rotary knobs located just under the display that are for accessing the menus and volume control. Other details the images reveal are the presence of a new instrument console with a centrally located MID, a new steering wheel, passenger side airbag and manual day/night IRVM.
While the exterior of the test mule was partially camouflaged, the images still reveal the new headlamp and grille design and the Smoke Grey body colour. The Ford EcoSport facelift retains the same ORVM and silver finish roof rails. Based on previous spy shots, we know Ford will offer the 2017 EcoSport with new colour options, a new rear wheel cover, and new alloy wheels.
A report that came out last week confirms the introduction of a new three cylinder 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine. It will have a power output of around 120 PS with automatic and manual transmission options. The 1.0 L EcoBoost and 1.5 L TDCi diesel are expected to be carried over unchanged, perhaps tuned for more fuel efficiency.
Launch details of the Ford EcoSport facelift is in the gray area. While one report claims September 15, 2017, as the launch date, multiple reports point towards a launch in October.
