The all-new Bajaj Pulsar 200 was spied testing once again. This image comes courtesy of Gaadi.com's reader, Mr. Nitin Aggarwal, who snapped this camouflaged prototype while it was testing in Pune.
Mr. Aggarwal says that this prototype was riding on the same MRF tires as those used on the Pulsar 200NS (17-inch rims shod with 100/80 tires at the front and 130/70 at the rear).
The new 200 will be based on the 200NS platform. Firepower is expected from a retuned version of the 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The new 200 should be good for about 23 bhp and 18.3 Nm of torque, while a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox should handle the transmission duties.
A full fairing, clip-on handlebars, a well laid out comprehensive cockpit with quality switchgear, a muscular looking tank, an exposed drive chain and a sporty exhaust should provide the necessary eye candy.
Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, said in July this year during an investors meet, that two "super sportsbikes” under the Pulsar brand would be introduced by the “middle of this financial year”. Given the production ready look of this test mule, we have a good reason to believe that the launch could be conducted by the beginning of next year.
