Bajaj quietly slips in an early BS IV update.

The 220 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine is now BS IV-compliant. A new timing chain designed for quieter working as well as a more linear and smoother power delivery sum up the changes to the motor. It makes 21.05 PS at 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm as before, and channels power via a 5-speed transmission.
Other changes introduced in the Bajaj Pulsar 220F for MY2017 are, a new digital instrument cluster featuring a blue backlight, improved seats which are softer, red and black paint, manual choke, red alloy wheel stripes and a black exhaust.
The BS IV emission norms is effective from April 2017, and the Bajaj Pulsar 220F has been updated accordingly months before. It was reported in September that the BS IV engine update will come to the Pulsar 135, Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 by year-end, and these new models too should be at dealerships within days.
