The Bajaj Pulsar VS 400 will also be launching shortly.
According to a report on Autocar India, Bajaj Auto will launch the updated 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 150, 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 180 and 2017 Bajaj Pulsar 220 by the end of this year. The launch of the updated Pulsar range will closely follow that of the Bajaj Pulsar VS 400 which is expected to go on sale next month.
The report does not shed light on the improvements that will be carried on these updated Pulsars. On the powertrain front, Bajaj Auto could update the single-cylinder DTS-i units in these motorcycles to BS-4 emission norms, while tweaking them for improved fuel efficiency.
Bajaj could also introduce ABS and CBS (Combi Braking System) on these models given that the Indian government has mandated these safety features on all motorcycles displacing 125 cc and above (for two-wheelers displacing 125 cc and less, CBS is mandatory) from April 2017 (April 2018 in case of existing models).

On the cosmetic front, Bajaj Auto is certain to introduce new colors and graphics on these motorcycles. With these updates, Bajaj Auto hopes to increase sales of the Pulsar nameplate, which is witnessing a bit of a slowdown. For the month of August 2016, sales of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 were down 3 percent (at 33,815), the Pulsar 180 and 200NS combined sold 6,650 units (down by 38 percent), however, the Pulsar 220 was up by 30 percent (at 8,445 units).
