Earlier this month, Hero MotoCorp announced that it would revise the prices of its products and hike them by 1% on ex-showroom levels. The revision in the price is most likely a result of increasing input costs.

Following the announcement, the company has revealed the revised price of the Xtreme 200S - INR INR 99,400*, which is approximately INR 900 more than the launch price of INR 98,500*. Despite the price increase, the Xtreme 200S is the most affordable fully-faired motorcycle in the Indian market.
The Xtreme 200S, which made a debut alongside the XPulse 200 and the XPulse 200T, is in higher demand than the XPulse duo. The Xtreme 200S shares its frame, engine and other hardware with the Xtreme 200R. The motorcycle, in BS-IV form, uses a 199.6 cc carburettor-equipped, air-cooled, 2-valve, SOHC motor that delivers 18.4 PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The power mill is linked to a 5-speed gearbox.
The BS-VI compliant model will pack a fuel injection system along with other new hardware to comply with the more stringent emission norms. Regular readers would know that XPulse 200 already comes with a fuel-injection system. Hero MotoCorp is at an advanced stage of developing BS-VI compliant engines and it has already received the BS-VI certification for its Splendor iSmart. The BS-VI Splendor iSmart is likely to arrive towards the end of this year.
Hardware such as conventional telescopic front forks, a 7-step adjustable rear monoshock, 276 mm front disc, 220 mm back disc and a single-channel ABS, as in case of the Xtreme 200R naked roadster, is standard. However, the fully-faired model features a full-LED headlight, digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation function and better windblast protection with a windscreen as well.

Buyers can select the Hero Xtreme 200S from three colour options - Sports Red, Panther Black and Maple Brown. The fully-faired Hero MotoCorp product rivals the Bajaj Pulsar 180F and 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF in the Indian market. The Gixxer SF recently received a makeover, and the 2019 iteration comes equipped with a full-LED headlight, revised cockpit and an appealing design.
