Hero MotoCorp has announced a 1% increase in the ex-showroom prices of all its products. The reason behind the price hike has not been revealed, although it is most likely due to increasing input costs. The company is yet to update the prices on its website although the revised costs are applicable with immediate effect.

Considering the price increase, the new XPulse 200, which was launched at INR 97,000 for the carburettor model, is likely to retail at INR 97,970*. The fuel-injected version will now be available at INR 1,06,050*. The road-biased XPulse 200T will be sold at INR 94,940. The fully-faired Xtreme 200S, which arrived at INR 98,500*, will be available at INR 99,485*. In the scooter segment, the Maestro Edge 125 will now carry an INR 59,085* tag for the base model, while the fuel injected variant will be available at INR 63,327*.
The revised prices mentioned above are based on the 1% increase announced by the two-wheeler manufacturer. The company is likely to update its website with new prices very soon.
In other updates, Hero MotoCorp has temporarily discontinued its flagship product, the Karizma ZMR, from the domestic market but it continues to export. The void created by the absence of the Karizma ZMR post the ABS upgrade was filled with the launch of the Xtreme 200S. We expect the Karizma brand to make a comeback post the BS-VI upgrade next year. The updated Karizma could be launched at Auto Expo 2020.
Meanwhile, the Xtreme 200S is reportedly finding more buyers than the XPulse 200 duo. All three models – Xpulse 200, XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S – share the carburettor engine. The XPulse 200 is the only model that comes with a fuel injected motor, although that power mill will be available on the other 200 cc models post the BS-VI upgrade. The 199.6 cc carburettor equipped, oil-cooled engine makes 18.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed transmission.
