The Hero Xtreme 200S shares its underpinnings and engine with the Hero Xtreme 200R. Thus, propelling tasks are performed by a 199.6 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, 2-valve, SOHC engine with a carburettor that produces 18.4 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is coupled to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

The fully-faired design with a tall windscreen will offer better protection from the windblasts than the naked roadster. Along with the upright ergonomics, the fully-faired Xtreme 200R will offer better-touring capabilities. The fully-faired model carries more features than the naked roadster and comes equipped with a full-LED headlight and a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Its exhaust has a slightly different design.

Shock absorption tasks are performed by conventional telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from 276 mm disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the back. The safety net includes a single-channel ABS as standard.

The Hero Xtreme 200S is available in three colour options - Sports Red, Mapple Brown and Panther Black.

Expressing his views about the launch of the Hero Xtreme 200S, Dr Pawan Munjal, Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, said:
