Ford India is testing out the new Ford Figo, the compact sedan based on the new Figo reportedly called the 'Figo Aspire', and the full-sized sedan based on the Figo. The latter is only available in Brazil at the moment, where it is called Ka+.
The Ka+ is unlikely to launch in India, as Ford India sells the Fiesta in that segment. Developed keeping in mind the Indian market is the sub-4 meter version of the sedan, which is likely to launch before the hatchback.
Both, the Figo Aspire sedan and the new Figo hatch, will be made at Ford India's new facility in Sanand, Gujarat. Reports state that this facility will be inaugurated later this month.
Power for the Figo Aspire, according to sources, will come from a 1.2-liter TiVCT petrol engine, developing about 80 PS, and a recalibrated version of the 1.5-liter diesel engine seen in the Fiesta and EcoSport.
